Overview

The Manang Trek is a short yet spectacular journey into the heart of the Annapurna region. Known as the “Gateway to the Himalayas,” Manang offers incredible mountain views, Tibetan-influenced culture, and peaceful high-altitude landscapes. This trek is perfect for travelers who want to experience authentic mountain life and breathtaking scenery within a short timeframe.

Trek Difficulty: Easy to Moderate – suitable for beginners and families
Best Seasons: Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November)
Accommodation: Local teahouses and guesthouses with basic facilities
Permits Required: Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card

Itinerary

Early morning drive from Kathmandu through scenic hills, river valleys, and villages. You’ll pass Besisahar and continue along the Marsyangdi River until reaching the beautiful village of Manang.

Spend the day exploring the picturesque Manang Valley. Visit Gangapurna Lake, local monasteries, and the Himalayan Rescue Association center. Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, IV, and Gangapurna peaks.

Take a day hike to the stunning Ice Lake or explore nearby villages like Braga and Khangsar. Enjoy the dramatic high-altitude scenery and learn about the region’s Tibetan culture. Return to Manang for the night.
